UTSAVAM EVENTS

Srinivasa Kalyanam Utsavam

This annual Hindu festival honors Lord Venkateshwara (also known as Balaji or Vishnu) and is usually held between January and February.

The festival features elaborate processions and pujas dedicated to the deity. It includes a grand procession with beautifully adorned idols of Lord Venkateshwara, which are carried on decorated chariots through the streets of Punchong Kovil premises. Devotees participate enthusiastically in these events, making it a vibrant display of religious devotion and cultural heritage.

The name “Kalayankatu Utsavam” literally translates to “the festival of the holy water,” reflecting the importance placed on the ritualistic bathing or washing of the deity’s idol during the celebrations.
